Support & FAQ
Help using TX LodgingLens and understanding the information shown.
Can I preview TX LodgingLens before subscribing?
Yes. You can view the public Example Report. It demonstrates the product experience without providing free access to the full research database.
Where does the data come from?
TX LodgingLens uses publicly available hotel occupancy tax information obtained from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. TX LodgingLens is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Texas.
What is RevPAR?
RevPAR means revenue per available room. TX LodgingLens calculates it from available reported room revenue, room capacity, and reporting-period days. It is not an official Texas Comptroller metric and is not STR/CoStar data.
What is the difference between Total Revenue and Taxable Revenue?
TX LodgingLens displays the reported total room receipts and taxable receipts when those fields are available in the underlying public records.
How are quarterly filers handled?
Quarterly receipts remain quarterly. TX LodgingLens does not divide a quarter by three and present the result as actual monthly revenue.
Can source records contain errors?
Yes. Public filings can include delays, amendments, missing periods, naming differences, and other inaccuracies. Important information should be independently verified.
